On the packaging of the PDI .01 PTW 509mm inner barrel there is this interesting note:
Tighter Dia. as 01, you'll get more highly FPS. larger Dia. as 08, you'll get more accuracy. 04&05 are effective for all range shots.

Now, despite the bad English, this makes some sense as the wider the barrel, the less BB bounces off the wall (at least on theory) but this, naturally, would involve loss of air.
The build material is advertised as SUS304 (stainless steel).
As a whole, the installation is a straightforward (once having overcome the darn barrel key) replacement of the PTW inner barrel.
Below you can check the minor difference between the .01 PDI and the 6.04 stock Systema barrel - the original inner barrel seems to fit somewhat tighter with the hop adjuster.

Once I complete my poor overall PTW maintenance attempt, I will get down to actually testing the barrel and could post some results.

Hey Guys

This Barrel is a Dream!!!!

I Played today whit this barrel and red cylinder and 0.25 bbs
And notice I have the normal hopup in it^^:D

I hit somebody on 100m with every shot or the second !!! i dont need the hop up really!

we tested in a face off :

My ptw with the red cylinder and the 6.01 barrel

and a Ca SPR with 480 fps full tuned !

We had the same Scores so the ptw shoots like a normal AEG!!!

I have Deep Fire 6.02,Original Barrel Systema 6.04 and PDI 6.01 374mm and 274mm.

Deep fire - I used for Rapid fire for rugged used
PDI 6.01mm - Usually I used this for sniper
Original Systema barrel 6.04mm - All weather used

to be honest I really like to use PDi 6.01mm coz its more accurate no jam even on rapid fire.

I order two more PDI 6.04mm and PDI 6.01mm 274 for cqb

thanks
