(help) ptw box-mag convertion?

Postby kikoff on Fri Apr 25, 2014 4:58 pm

Fluff:So. After I changed from regular aeg's to my ptw in early 2013 I have completely fallen in love.

Suddenly I just seem to hit everything all the time. But, there are rare times when I feel at loss without my trusted mg at my side. Like for instance in this crazy assault during "Berget 11" where I quickly ran out of fresh mags (I carry 13) on my ptw and needed to fish the mg out of my backpack to continue the assault.

Question: This got me thinking that it has to be possible to put a ptw mag top in a self feeding electric box mag. So that instead of carrying a whole extra weapon system I can simply carry a big magasine.

Does anyone know of anything like this? Or if it can be done? (no, I don't really care if it looks authentic or not. I just want to play airsoft. :P )

It can be done, it have been done in the past. Look into strictly ptw picture thread there was a guy modified a airsoft C-mag into PTW (dry fire though)

Not entirely sure the motor and boards would handle LMG style full auto
Why not just get a G&P M249 and upgrade it?
Mine shoots damn far and damn accurate, has a 3000 round box, complies to milsim rules (not allowed box mags on rifles), doesn't look retarded (C-mag on an M4 makes you look like a total paintballer), shoots 1400rpm, and it hasn't had a single mechbox failure in the 6 years I've had it.

That's what I have now. And, most games I never even have to take it out og the car. But in the situations I do need it, the added weight og having to lug around the m249 om ny back the entire day. Just to cover that flank the one time.

But yes, I do agree that putting a mickey mouse magazine on an m-16 makes you look like a tool. Haha.

So just carry the 249 and use it like it's supposed to be used lol
I'm a tiny guy at 140lbs and only 5'7, and the 249 was my op gun, I've used it at many 24hr+ games. Including a few long milsims in 300 acres of rolling hills which really sucked.
I did absolutely benefit from having a 249 based workout regimen though. Lots of kettlebells and uphill running

Uuhh, Frank, you weigh 140lbs with the 249 covered in wet towels.

Yet, somehow, you manage.

Haha. Yeah sure. I could allways just go m249 all the way. But I just love that lasergun sound of the ptw and the sweet "pftick" og that wellplaced round on 80-90meters.

Guess I'll just have to up the mag count even more. :-p
