Magpul AFG

Postby Cartman on Fri Jan 22, 2010 11:37 am

Redwolf have just started to stock a PTS version of the Magpul AFG http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airsoft/ProductDetail?prodID=28501.

Has anyone had a go with one of these ?

I am somewhat bemused though how the PTS version costs the same as the real one. Surely you'd just buy the real one ?

I should have guessed that ! They seem an interesting idea although it would mean that I couldn't use my Surefire M900 any more

it would also limit your ability to mount anything on the left rails for right hand shooters and vice versa for left hand shooters. this is designed so your fingers are at an angle and your thumb wraps around the side rail.

Received mine during the week.

Fitted it too my Mabull Noveske front end, was a tight fit, had to hammer it on, and it cracked a bit.

Its quite comfortable - but can see issues with folks using forches / pressure pads.

Haven't tried it on the full gun, as the lower is with Tack ATM - but ill probably change back to the FAB grip i got from Bulldog-IL :)

When lower received back ill givt it a proper go :)

The AFG has issues with the number of compatible fore grips, as the two small wings on top of the AFG comes in contack with the vertical rails. So Magpul are releasing an AFG2 with out the wings doing spring 2010.

It's intended to use in the shooting position Magpul Dynamics teaches.

I bought one and disliked it as soon as it was mounted.

However I managed to sell it at a slight profit, so all was not lost. Back to vert grips for me...

Same here. Feels a bit weird to me and blocks my side rail :(

I guess to each his own, I used to have the folding TDI grips and AFG feels much more natural to me.

Actually, as I use mine now, I have my flashlight mounted on the left rail of the ras (instead of right, when using VFG). And I reach the preassure swith, with my left thumb, easily. So, yeah, it rly does work quite good =)
