PTW & CTW Gearboxes

Postby Chewy416 on Mon Mar 13, 2017 1:32 pm

Hi guys,

Can't find a thread on this so hopefully it's an easy question to answer.

How can you tell if a gearbox is a PTW or CTW one please?
I bought what was sold to be a PTW (with certain non-PTW bits, but CTW never mentioned once) and I've noticed recently that there is a blue light inside.

From research, a blue light is only present with CTW Electronics - so this is leading me to believe the gun may not be fully what it was sold to be.

So, how can I tell if a gearbox is PTW or CTW?

Thanks,
Chewy

Blue Light is also used by etiny electronics. Which are OK with me my main gun runs with that, had to replace only a Mosfet in a couple of years.

systema gearbox has KUMI on the side.
Open the gearbox, if the planetary shafts have flats on them to align with the gear cap, it's systema. If they're round, it's a CTW.
