Having some issues, please help.

Hey guys,

Recently picked up a used 08 PTW, so I'm somewhat new to the P-Dub world.
The gun was runny flawlessly for about 2 months, until this past weekend at Northern Light, here in USA.
From what it appears, my gears are not re-aligning properly. The gun will be shooting, then suddenly stop.
When looking at the lower without the upper, there is a red LED light that blinks when I try to shoot, but nothing happens.
I can get the gun back up & running when I manually re-align the gears VIA motor rotation, but it only lasts about 3 mags before screwing up again.

Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks everyone.

Yeah sounds like the motor but try these steps first, see if it gets better

Check the holes on the sector gear are free from gunk
Take the pistol grip off, disconnect the battery, get some DC motor cleaner and spray the hell out of your motor.
Loads of black gunk powder should come out.

Let it dry and try firing the gun again.

If not, send it to Tac for a rewind

Brushes should take a long time to weardown, like many tens of thousands of rounds. In fact, I have seen a motor with over 200,000 rounds on it with the origiginal brushes.

If I get a motor with alot of brush dust on it, the problem is never the brushes. Bad comm, bad spring, lead unable to move, etc.

Yes sound like classic motor symptoms.

There is loads of info on here about cleaning it and what sort of things go wrong with them.
Sorry Tac but Tinkerbell is my fairdust dealer.
