Gun doesnt want to make its mind up

Postby Westywesty84 on Fri Aug 10, 2012 9:03 am

My friends 2007 model decided it was going to play up on him.

When the problem occured, the gun didnt want to cycle at all, but the motor was trying its best.

On inspection of the gun, it was down right dirty...he got a bollocking for that!!

But i thought it was originally the motor gone belly up, but if you spin the sector gear with your thumb, then press the trigger, the gun will cycle, if you release the trigger, then press again, it wont cycle.

ive cleaned the holes in the sector gear and give it some tlc but i cant seem to shift the issue

Anyone had this before?

Cheers for your help

It could be a bad spot in your motor and it needs rewiring....

Like me a few weeks back, the motor just needs cleaning.
Take the pistol grip off and see if you have a load of black carbon powder everywhere. This affects the magnetic field and can result in what you describe (but it could be a dud motor)

Use some DC motor cleaner, or switch contact cleaner :)
Worked for me....but this isn't always the answer

Could even be the brushes on the motor too
You don't go out looking for a job dressed like that do you, on a weekday?

2007 motors are beter than the 2008 that brought about all the issues.

Though if the motor is now 5 years old there is a high liklyhood it needs a clean and new brushes.
